About the event
It's time to kick off my next project, Sex Talk Saturday, and I couldn't be more thrilled to invite you to join our free virtual meetup and discussion.
Sex Talk Saturdays are casual discussion groups where curious folks can connect and share in some silly, light-hearted, sexy fun. We'll be swapping spicy stories, asking those burning questions, and engaging in captivating conversations, all while fostering fellowship with other Sexplorers! This project is part of my mission to normalize conversations surrounding sex and remove the stigma that often accompanies these discussions. I firmly believe that open and honest dialogue about sexuality is essential for personal growth, healthy relationships, and a more sexually empowered, autonomous society.
This virtual meetup is an inclusive and judgment-free space where people from all walks of life can come together to share experiences, ask questions, and gain valuable insights. Whether you're curious about a specific aspect of sexuality, want to hear different perspectives, or simply want to connect with like-minded individuals, this event is for you. And, if you're not quite ready to participate in the conversation, you're more than welcome to join in just to listen.
What to Expect
- Icebreaker: We'll kick things off with a fun icebreaker activity to help everyone get to know each other.
- Discussion: To get things going, I may start things off by proposing a few spicy topics and sharing some relevant information. Feel free to share your thoughts, ask questions, or simply listen and learn! From there, we'll let the conversation guide us along organically.
- Q&A Session: Got burning questions about sex or relationships? That's great! The floor will be open to questions throughout the talk. The more, the merrier.
- Community Building: We'll wrap up with some time to check in on everybody's experience, takeaways, and reflections. We'll take note of things we learned as well as things we'd like to learn more about next time. Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to connect with others who share your interest in normalizing conversations about sex. Together, we can create a more open and accepting society.
Guidelines & Etiquette
Creating clear and respectful guidelines for a discussion group on sensitive topics like sexuality is important to maintain a safe and welcoming environment. Here are some rules to observe during our talk:
1. Respect for Diverse Perspectives: We value diverse viewpoints and experiences. Be open-minded and understanding of different perspectives on sexuality. Avoid judgment or shaming of others' preferences or experiences.
2. Consent and Boundaries: Consent is paramount. Do not engage in unsolicited or nonconsensual advances, comments, or discussions. Always respect the boundaries of others, both in content and interactions.
3. Inclusive Language: Use inclusive and respectful language. Avoid discriminatory or derogatory remarks related to gender, race, sexuality, or any other aspect of identity. Be mindful of the impact your words may have on others.
4. Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality within the group. Do not share personal information or details about others' experiences outside the group without explicit consent.
5. Focus on Education and Discussion: This group is intended for educational and open discussions about sexuality. It's not a place for explicit content or sexual gratification. Please keep the discussions focused on learning, sharing, and exploration.
6. Be Mindful of Triggers: Recognize that some topics may be triggering for individuals. Use content warnings when discussing potentially sensitive subjects, and be supportive of those who may need to step away from a discussion.
7. Respect Privacy: Do not ask for or share personal information about other group members without their consent. Privacy is important, and boundaries should be respected.
8. No Trolling or Harassment: Do not engage in trolling, harassment, or any form of online abuse. Report any inappropriate behavior to the group moderators.
9. Participation Is Voluntary: Remember that participation in discussions is entirely voluntary. No one should feel pressured to share or discuss anything they are uncomfortable with.
10. Respect Moderators: Follow the guidance of the group moderators. They are here to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all participants.
11. Accountability and Learning: If you make a mistake or unintentionally offend someone, be open to constructive feedback. Use it as an opportunity to learn and grow in your understanding of respectful discourse.
By establishing and enforcing these guidelines, we create a space where people feel comfortable discussing sensitive topics related to sexuality while maintaining a respectful and safe environment. Failure to abide by these rules will result in ejection from the group and your account will be flagged.
